Dentistry for a Cause

We are happy to report that Drew Family Dentistry held our first annual Halloween Candy Buy Back. It was intended to be a 1 day event but ended up lasting nearly 2 weeks!!  While the buckets of candy in the dental office raised some eyebrows everyone was in favor of sending our amazing troops some sweet treats.

If you have never heard of a candy buy back, here is the run down. Dentists across the nation offer to buy back candy from children and work in partnership with charities to donate the candy to American troops.

SO HOW MUCH CANDY WAS THERE????

 121.6 POUNDS!!!

Thank you to our awesome community for spreading the word. Thank you for the children who donated their candy to soldiers and of course thank you to our troops.

What sharp teeth you have!

IT'S SHARK WEEK!!!!

SHARK TEETH
Each type of shark has a different shaped tooth depending on what they eat. The shark above is a great white shark and he obviously eats meat. A shark may grow and use over 20,000 teeth in its lifetime! Whenever he loses one another spins forward from his rows and rows of back up teeth. In the picture below you can see all the sharks teeth waiting to come forward behind just one tooth !

HUMAN TEETH
Humans, like us, do not have the luxury of re-growing our adult teeth when they fall out. That is why it is imperative to maintain regular check-ups and cleanings to prevent dental disease. At your exam appointments Dr. Drew checks the overall health of your teeth and gums. It is important to diagnosis any issues early so Dr. Drew can use the most conservative , state of the art procedures to ensure you keep your healthy smile a lifetime.

Burnin' Rubber...

Dr. Drew took ALL of us girls to the race track!! We got to race some REALLY fast go-karts and we had a blast, to say the least. After a long day at the office, it was good to get out some adrenaline on the track! We aren't your average dental team....so you can bet we put the pedal to the metal and tried our hardest to beat Dr. Drew! Here are some pics of the event!
Here's Dr. Drew, ready beat everyone of us!
Dee was a speed-demon!
Melissa having a blast...
Brenda, taking this VERY seriously!
Jane got the award for "the slowest driver"!!!

Thank you sooooo much Dr. Drew for spoiling us! We appreciate you :)

The "Best" Dental Insurance

Thanks to dental insurance, millions of people visit their dentist office on a regular basis for routine exams and cleanings. But what about the 45 million people who don't have dental insurance?

Does dental care become less important if you are uninsured, under-insured, or if you've exhausted your annual dental insurance benefits? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Left untreated-decay, gum disease and related health problems get worse whether or not you have insurance.

Many people share a common misconception that dental insurance will pay 100% of their dental work. The truth is, even the best of dental plans available cover only a portion of your dental care-even if it's necessary!

Dental insurance carriers usually pay only a percentage of what they consider "usual and customary" fees.

Who do you want to be in control here? You, Dr. Drew, & his trusted staff, or your insurance company?

It really helps to understand what your dental coverage is and what it is not.

Remember, your dental insurance plan is not to be mistaken for your dental treatment plan. Your treatment plan is the one that ensures you the whitest, brightest, and healthiest smile possible!

If you have any questions regarding dental insurances, please call our office and talk to our insurance experts, Trish and Melissa, and they will be more than happy to help in any way!
